Folder with new photos imported won't display old imports

If I import photos into a folder in Lightroom Classic which already has photos in it from a previous import, it will no longer display any of the photos from the previous import.

 

If I click on "Folder: <folder name>" above the photo filmstrip at the bottom I can click on "Previous Import" and it'll then display all the photos from the previous import in that folder, but no longer show the new photos. I can toggle back and forth showing old import and new import but I want to see all photos in that folder.

 

How do I have it show all the photos imported regardless of when they were uploaded??? I've googled this, searched the forums, etc and can't find an answer.

Previous imports is a collection. If you click on it, then Lightroom will display all photos of the last import, so it will not display photos that were imported earlier. If you want to see all photos in a certain folder, then do not go to previous import. Select the folder and that is it. And if you want to see all your photos, regardless of the folder they are stored, then click on 'All Photographs'. Also make sure the filter bar (at the top of the grid) is set to 'None'.

    I'm in the proper folder from my library, but it's not displaying all the photos that I've imported into the folder.

     

    For example, I took some photos of myself to make my own passport photo. I imported these photos into a folder called "Passport Photos".

    Later in the day, I took some photos of my brother who will be travelling with me and also needed a passport photo. I imported those new photos of him into the same Lightroom folder "Passport Photos". Now it only shows the latest photos imported of my brother and won't show the photos in the bottom strip of me.

    I can click on "Previous Import" and it will switch back to the imported photos of me earlier in the day in my first import. But I can't get it to show all the photos of me from the first import, and all the photos of my brother in the second import at the same time in one film strip at the bottom - even though they're all in the same lightroom folder and have been imported into lightroom - just at separate times.

    Does that make sense?
