After the last update, a few days ago, lightroom (Mac) freezes at the splash screen and the wonderful beach ball spins:)

Please uninstall the Lightroom application, restart the machine and reinstall it from the Adobe website, refer: Install Photoshop Lightroom
If the above solution doesn't solve your problem, then refer the below thread and check the correct answer and other suggestions.
