Question

Generative remove failure

In some instances when using the generative remove tool on Lightroom Classic, the tool goes through its processing then leaves a black mark where I had drawn. Even after regenerating, it remains black. I have redrawn the selection before to try to fix it but the new selection will remain black. On Lightroom Classic version 15.0.1.

@daring_personality0882, if updating your graphics drivers doesn't help, you may be tripping over this bug acknowledged by Adobe:

Hi, thanks for reaching out!

Please try updating Lightroom Classic to the latest version (15.1) and check if you still experience the same behavior. If you do, please share a screenshot of the entire interface so we can also view the tool's settings. Also, let us know the format of the files you're working on.

Thanks,
Nikunj

Hi Nikunj,

I just updated to 15.1, and the issue persists. It has started to happen every time I try to make a new selection and I cannot use the remove feature reliably at this point.

I am working with Canon Raw .CR3 files imported from a Canon R6 Mark II.

This could be caused by outdated GPU drivers. Go to the website of your GPU manufacturer and check for updates. If you have a Nvidia GPU, then use the Studio drivers, not the Game Ready drivers.
