Geo metadata on catalog export and import

I had a group of photos on my macbook pro (Macos 12.5 beta, LRC 11.4) which I processed and added geo data using Jeffrey's Geoencoding plugin. On the Mac they showed as being here in Santa Barbara.  After processing, I exported the photos as a catalog and reimported the catalog and associated photos to LRC for windows 10 LRC 11.3.1. When I launched lightroom all the files had a totally different set of coordinates including a .jpg file from my iphone which had been used to generate the location (all photos had been made at the same location.).   I was able by taking a new copy of the original iphone photo to correct this, but I  wonder if geo metadata is brought along properly when exporting/importing a catalog from Mac to Windows
