Good photo vanished from the library, and Lightroom won't let me import it again.

This started in Lightroom Classic 4, so I decided for many reasons to move to the newest Lightroom CC via subscription and the problem persists!

It's a photo I've processed a bit, then it vanished from the library list.

It's still on the hard drive, nothing wrong with it.

I tried to "import in place" but nothing showed on the list.

I ended up manually copying the file to a temporary place and importing it from there with the "move photo to your folder" option, which worked fine.

Now I have one copy in Lightroom : DSC_5762-2.NEF and on the hard drive I also have DSC_5762.NEF.

Note - I do not have "don't import suspected copies" enabled.  Any ideas? I wonder how many other photos are invisible in my Lightroom main folder?

Please follow all four of these steps to search for the photo by file name

1. In the Lightroom Library Module, on the left, under Catalog, click on All Photographs
2. Turn off all filters (Ctrl-L once or twice)
3. Turn off all stacking (Photo->Stacking->Expand All Stacks)
4. Search for at least one of these photos by file name using the Lightroom Filter Bar

Lightroom Classic 9.3.  Installed today.

By latest version of Lightroom CC, do you mean 9.3, or 3.3? We need the number and not words like "latest" or "up-to-date".

You can't import files that have been previously imported. You have to find them in your catalog, and then you can use it again.

The file in question is no longer in the catalog anymore. Thats the problem.
