GPS export difficulties

Hey all,

I've been using LR for a while, but can't seem to export GPS coordinates with jpgs. I don't know what I am doing wrong here.

Quick run-down:
- I'm importing iPhone raw photos with GPS data to LR.

- LR Map shows them even at the right spot.
- When I export jpgs, the GPS info's gone.
- Doing the same with Apple photos works great, but can't edit there.

Anyone got a fix?

Hey! It sounds like you're running into a common issue with Lightroom's export settings. Even though your original iPhone RAW photos contain GPS metadata and Lightroom displays them correctly on the map, the problem likely lies in your export preferences. By default, Lightroom may be set to strip location metadata for privacy reasons during export. To fix this, go to the Export dialog box, scroll to the Metadata section, and make sure that either "All Metadata" is selected, or at least that the "Remove Location Info" checkbox is unchecked. Once you do this, your exported JPGs should retain the GPS coordinates just like they do when using Apple Photos. Give that a try and you should be good to go!

Are they assigned to a saved location that has the Private option enabled?

If the locations aren't marked Private, upload a sample raw and the exported version to Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar and post the sharing link here. That will let us quickly determine whether the issue is with the photo, your particular LR configuration and settings, or LR in general (a bug).
