Question

Hard Drive constantly being hit

Good morning,

Ever since the latest Lightroom Classic release (14.2 - Windows 11), each time I run the application, the NAS where I store the photos (not the catalog) goes nuts.  For some reason or another LR is accessing the drives and I can't figure out why?   Even after I exit LR, I check the Task Manager, LR is still running in the background going nuts on drives.

Can someone explain what is going on?

I was expecting the application to act as it did previously... hitting the NAS only when changes are made or when importing photos.

Thanks,

Mark

Sounds like it's writing XMP files

Hi @mDietsch

Where is your catalog located? Is it synced to the cloud, and if so, have you opened it on multiple computers before? Could you try creating a new catalog to see if the behavior is the same?

Thanks a lot!
