Once a photo has been uploaded full size to lightroom mobile and then downloaded to classic you should have the option to remove the original from mobile and replace it with a smart preview.

This is the response I got from tech support : "buy more storage space"

When I said that I didn't need more they said to do this:

1. upload images from Lightroom mobile
2. then open lightroom web and download all those uploaded file to local storage

3. after that delete those files from cloud to free up space.

4. And then import those downloaded images in Lightroom classic.

And sync them with cloud.

Once you sync those images from classic then they will be uploaded as the previes in cloud which will consume very minimal space

You already have that option, but it requires a bit of work. In Lightroom Classic, select the image and remove it from 'All Synced Photographs' and from any synced collection. That will remove the image from the cloud, but not from Lightroom Classic. Then sync it again from Lightroom Classic by adding it again to the synced collection(s). Now it will sync up as a smart preview.

So what you are saying is we DON'T have that option.  What you said is like going to a car dealership and asking for a car with a sunroof and the salesperson saying you already have one, use the hacksaw in your garage to cut one out!  I understand that I CAN do what I want to do it is just very involved.   That is why I posted for a "feature request" not an answer to a question that I didn't ask.

This kind of answer is why this forum is useless. You just reposted exactly what I said that the tech support said.

First of all, it is not what Adobe tech said. They advised some unnecessary procedure with downloads and imports, that is likely to create duplicates in Lightroom Classic. I gave a work around that is much simpler, that is why I gave it. Secondly, I do not work for Adobe, I am a Lightroom user just like you. I cannot change anything in Lightroom. The only thing that I can do is help people with work arounds so they can achieve what they want with the current versions of Lightroom and Lightroom Classic. If you don't appreciate that help, then I'm sorry I tried to help you.

By the way: Your feature request already exists, in which case it's better to add your vote to that request. But don't hold your breath. When Lightroom was introduced seven years ago, Adobe made it clear that Lightroom Classic would not get any new sync features, and they kept that promise. So your chance of ever getting this feature and not having to use a work around is very slim.
