I've been testing the new HDR feature on a few photo and have no problem viewing the results in Develop Mode.  When I export to .jxl, however, I can't view the results - regardless of the color space that I select.  The image looks, more or less, as it does when I export without HDR.  

Are there other export considerations?

    Export as normal JPEG and check the 'HDR output' box. Then open the exported image in Google Chrome. Right now, there are very few applications that support HDR output, but Chrome does.

    I am facing the same issue. When i export an image with HDR ON and open it in quick look or Adobe Photoshop, it looks the same as the one without HDR ON. However, after reading your reply, i opened the 2 image exports (with and without HDR ON) in google chrome and was able to appreciate the difference. Why this limitation? And it means although my image is sharp and has better depth and highlights (post application of HDR setting), my client cannot appreciate the same ?

    In Photoshop, you have to turn on the technology preview option for accurate color management for HDR images. Otherwise it won't display correctly. You also have to turn on the camera raw option to turn on HDR for HDR images by default. Those two preference settings are not standard and by default you won't see HDR in Photoshop (yes that is weird). 

    Apple does not support HDR anywhere except for HEIC files coming from phones. So quicklook, preview, safari, etc. will NOT display the HDR. Really the only non-adobe program that displays HDR images correctly is Chrome. Hopefully Apple will but none of the betas and none of the preview releases of Safari do, so it seems Apple (and Microsoft by the way but we're not talking about this right now) is way behind the times on this.
