HDR merge inherit flagged photos

This is a thing that comes and goes. Sometimes it works fine and then it stops working as I think it should.

I do a lot of HDR, so i use the keyboard shortcut to do the merge and then flag the photos to be rejected and deleted later. But the HDRs that are created should not receive rejected upon creating. I work like this for a lot of years and this started happening two years ago or so. But Sometimes it goes back working fine not rejecting the hdrs. And I was working fine like this fine nowadays but then I bought a new machine and did a fresh install, new macos and lightroom classic. And now this problem got back.

lightroom 14.4

macos 15.5

Normally, the DNG created by Photo > Photo Merge inherits the metadata of the most selected photo, or if your applying it to a batch of stacked photos, the stack tops.  The inherited metadata included the EXIF camera information, caption, title, keywords. But it does NOT include the flags.

Try resetting LR's preferences:

LR sometimes soils its preferences file, and resetting it can fix all sorts of wonky behavior. That article explains how to restore the old preferences if resetting doesn't help.
