HDR Merge Not Working

Hello,
I am using LrC 13.4.
Since yesterday, HDR merge has not been working properly. While trying to merge multiple sets, the program would pause after completing a few and would display the remaining as being queued. Most recently, the HDR dialog box does not open at all.

I'm on Windows 11.

Background
About a week ago, I moved my catalog to an external SSD so I could work from several computers.
Things worked fine for a few days, but then LrC crashed and told me the catalog was corrupt. It repaired the catalog and worked fine again.
Yesterday, LrC crashed due to my corrupted catalog two times in a row. It repaired the catalog both times.
Now, however, HDR merge does not work properly. I had been trying to merge ~116 sets, and it completed about half of them just fine before crashing with a corrupt catalog.
This was repaired, and I attempted to carry on, but LrC would only put the HDR merges into the queue. It made no progress on merging any of them. This was true when doing them individually, as well.
Following some solutions in this post and others, I have tried to uninsntall/reinstall LrC, optimize my catalog, move the catalog to a different SSD, and increase the RAW cache.
But now the HDR dialog box won't even open.

I'm not sure what else to try.

Also of note is that sometime LrC takes a long while to launch. Upon clicking open, I see it sit in Task Manager for several minutes before finally opening.

I think I found my solution!

When LrC crashed and the catalog was corrupted, many of the image previews were messed up. Lots of the boxes along the bottom filmstrip were grey, and many more of these grey boxes were hidden behind the groups I had made for the batch HDR merge.

I began to open each group so LrC could refresh the previews. Once the previews were all there, I could merge like normal.

I just finished merging the remaining 20-some sets as a batch. It worked as intended.

Where did you find each group? I am having the same issue, except my batch is much larger at 9 images per merge batch.

I had made the groups myself in the bottom filmstrip. I right-clicked and set them to all to expand so that the previews could load, which then allowed me to HDR merge as normal.

A few updates:
I reset the Preferences to no avail.

I tried merging images on my laptop using the same catalog. It displayed the HDR merge dialogue box once and succcesfully merged, but it refused to open for any other attempts.

I then exported my working folder to a new catalog and opened this. When I tried to batch merge a set of images, it did the first one and then stalled, displaying all the others as being queued. It then refused to merge things individually, as well.

After this, I switched back to my original catalog. Batch merging still doesn't work, and merging individual sets acts inconsistently. Some will merge succesfully, others don't even have the HDR merge dialogue box come up.

This is so strange.
