Question

Heic files not visable after synching

Recently when I synch HEIC images from my iphone they are not visable in lightroom classic or photoshop. LR says it has encountered problems reading this photo and photoshop says an unknown AIDE library error has occured. Strange thing is these images are viewable on the creative cloud desktop and can be opened in Lightroom Desktop.

I have the latest codecs and Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling all three programs

Any ideas?

Hi @dominict65174981, welcome to the community!
Could you share a few more details about the issue? For example:
• Which version of Lightroom Classic are you using?
• How are you syncing the images from your mobile device, are you using Lightroom Mobile?
• What camera did you use to shoot those HEIC photos?
And if possible, please include a screenshot of the error message you’re seeing in Lightroom Classic.
For general HEIC troubleshooting, you can also check out this guide:

Thanks so much!

Hi Aleke

the HEIC images were taken using an iphone 16. These were then added to the lightroom mobile library and synched to Lightroom classic desktop on my Windows 11 pc.I can see and edit the images on my phone using lightroom mobile. Once synched I get the following error - see image1. If I try to open in photoshop I get a AIDE error - see image 2.The images are visible in Creative Cloud desktop - see image 3

Hope this gives you more info
