HELP! Photos disappeared

Hi! I pray I can get answers here - I lost years of photos. Yesterday I uploaded to my lightroom classic from my card. I worked on some photos yesterday and even saw them today. As I clicked on smart collections the photos I uploaded yesterday disappeared. Then the recent downloads only showed what I had previously and the 100 I had loaded yesterday were no longer to be found. Of course I never format my card but I did it and now the images are gone from my SD card and from my lightroom. PLEASE help!

Double check that you have the correct catalog opened. That you do not have another catalog.

 

Also, what hard drive and what folder did you import them to? Use Finder to locate them. Do they exist on the hard drive perhaps outside of LrC.

 

Why are they no longer on your SD card? Did you during the import choose Copy, Copy as DNG or Move , or perhaps, did you move them to your computer outside of LrC to a hard drive then import in LrC via ADD?

 

Do you not make backups of your photos? Preferably immediately.
