Help with new computer for installing images from an old external hard drive to Lightroom

I am hoping someone can help me with how do I add images from an old external hard drive to Lightroom on a new MacBook Pro and keep all of my old presets and setting and all of the edits I've done to my old images. Thanks.

    By the way, maybe this is just a wording issue rather than a substantive misunderstanding, but you dont "add images" in this case. You also don't Import photos.
