HEVC (H.265) Videos from iPhone don't play in Lightroom Classic

I am running into an issue where all of my .mov (HVEC) video files captured on my iPhone won't play back in Lightroom Classic. I am on the latest versions of Mac OS Ventura and Adobe Lightroom 12.0.1 running on an intel based iMac Pro.

Lightroom is able to generate previews, but all the files show as 2 seconds even though they are much longer, and the play controls are greyed out.

According to this, they should be supported.

Adobe automated chat support directed me to this help document which fixed the issue. In my case I had the dynamiclinkmediaserver service stuck running / frozen. force quitting that service and restaring LR and all is resolved.

    I did a test and removed some of the videos from my library and tried to reimport them and now I get this error.

    I found this old post, but deleting the preference files did not work for me.
