How can I install Camera Raw 16.1 with Lightroom 6.14

I currently have Lightroom 6.14 with Camera Raw 10.1. I need to update Camera Raw to 16.1 in order to import RW2 files from my new Lumix camera. I have sucessfully downloaded and installed Camera Raw 16.1 on my Windows PC but Lightoom says it is still linked to Raw 10.1. I have tried to add Camera Raw 16.1 as a plug in but it doesn't recognise the .exe file. Can anyone help?

Yep, the DNG Converter is a cheaper option.

Use the free stand-alone Adobe DNG Converter to convert your raw files to the DNG format (but still raw data), then you should be able to import and process those DNG files using LR6.14.

Thanks. I have done this. It produces huge file sizes (some over 100MB
compared with 25MB for the original RW2 files!) and for some reason
embeds the Camera Calibration Profile as Adobe Standard - one of the
things I want to recover is the ability to choose the profile, and in
particular Camera Landscape which I almost always use as most of my
images are landscape.

Re the file size....possibly you have chosen the option to embed the original raw file into the DNG, which would effectively double the size of the original raw.

Re profiles....yes, you will not have any camera-matching profiles, they are accessed from within the Lightroom or Camera Raw application so you would need the version of Lightroom/Camera Raw that supports your camera's raw files. If those profiles are a requirement, then your only option would be to take out a subscription for Lightroom Classic (or look elsewhere for a non-Adobe solution).
