Question

How can I sync my images on a HDD without write access?

I have been using a windows machine for past few years and had an external hard disk with NTFS format to store my images but now when I switched to mac and imported everything. Then made selection and sortings to my long collected images and deleted the unnecessary ones locally in LrC. But as the HDD was NTFS that doesn't allow the MAC to have write permission without formatting it so it didn't get deleted there on that HDD. So now I have thousands of selection work already done in LrC. Is there any way to get the same selected images in that HDD?

Thanks.

Right-click on the folder to navigate to "Properties".
Go to the "group or username" section on the "Security" tab.
Click on "Advanced", and then "Change".
Type your account name.
Check "Replace owner on sub containers and objects" > "OK".

I strongly doubt that will work. By default MacOS cannot write to an NTFS formatted volume. If you haven't installed a utility that allows writing to NTFS, then trying to change the folder permissions on that NTFS volume will almost certainly fail because of it.
