How can I tell if a Lightroom catalog is safe to delete on my iMac?
I currently have 34,735 photos in Lightroom, which is just under 2TB of storage. Roughly 2/3rds of these are stored on an external 5TB SSD which is hooked up to my iMac M4, and edited with Lightroom Classic.
The other 1/3rd are older photos that I don’t access often, and are on a second external 5TB SSD. These are still connected to the Lightroom library in case I need to edit any for a business client.
My problem is that my internal hard drive (512GB) on my iMac is getting full. Out of the 512GB, there is 117GB of Lightroom catalogs (names like “Lightroom Catalog-2-v13-3.zip”), most of which are 3 - 4GB in size, so roughly ¼ of my iMac hard drive is backups for Lightroom. I would like to clean out what I do not need. However, I am not sure what I can safely delete out of these 36 backups.
Could anyone help me figure out how to go about this, please?
