How do I delete catalogs

I want to clean up lightroom 5. I used a while back and started several catalogs. Some have pictures in them, some don't. I understand that no pictures will be deleted if I remove catalogs. I want to clean everything out and start over. How do I do that?

Thanks

John

Correct answer Akash Sharma

I Just upgraded to Lightroom 6 standalone (not creative cloud).

Both Lightroom CC/6 share same catalog name.

So you should keep the Lightroomcatalog and delete the older Lightroom 5 catalog.

Using Finder or Explorer, go to the folder containing the catalog you want to delete.

Delete the catalog (*.LrCat) and the one or more preview folders (*preview.LrData) that matches the catalog.

Make sure you are deleting the correct files as there is no "undo" in many cases.

Hi skiinstructor,

You need to remove the File/Folder highlighted below:-

Before you delete, make sure you do not beed the Image edits/Presets from this Catalog(if not upgraded the catalog to Lightroom 6/CC)
