Question

How do I search for a list of images within a folder? Currently filter search is not showing results

Working on an older computer and accidentally deleted my image edits for a wedding. Luckily I exported all images before that happened and was able to deliver them to the client. However, there are many more images that need to be edited, and I want to sort out the ones I already edited from the ones I didn't.

I have a list of image names I want to find in lightroom, ex:

IMG_0016, IMG_0054, IMG_0069

(there are 181)

When I enter these images into the search bar (with or without a comma) the results show me 1 image out of 181 images. If I manually type in the three images above to test whether or not they are there, the results only show 2 images.

Questions to solve:

1. Why is my search bar not working?

2. Is there another workaround to identifying theses specific images within my catalog so I can mark them as edited and skip them in the next workflow?

Thanks for your help.

If these images really lost all their edits, then you could filter on 'No Edits' to find them.

It works for me when I do it. What are your selections in the Filter Bar? For me, I use the following:

So, you have to click on Text, then select Filename, then select Contains.

Also, please tell us the version NUMBER of your Lightroom and the version NUMBER of your operating system.

Unfortuantely, that doesn't work when I type it in. The last image is still missing from the batch and when I try all 181, I only get 1 image to pop up.

Update, it's actually the 2nd file name, IMG_0054, that doesn't show up.
