How do I try out LR Classic 7.0 without affecting my CC/2015 version

Hi,

I have the photographers package and am running LR CC/2015.  I would like to try LR Classic 7.0 but without compromising my current version.  How do I go about installing the Classic 7.0 version with an empty catalog (I don't want it to convert my current catalog yet)?

I found it.  When you click the "Update' button on Creative Cloud App, it downloads the new version and starts the install.  On the first screen of the install (heading:  "You're upgrading to Lightroom Classic CC"), there is an item lower on the screen that says "> Advanced Options".  Click the spinner arrow to open the list.  The only item in the list is a checked box labeled "Remove old Versions".  UNCHECK THIS BOX.

Then hit the update button and the new LR Classic 7.0 will install without mucking with your older LR CC/2015.x version.  in the process it will ask you if you want to convert your older catalog to the new version and will show you which one it found (looks like the last one used).  If you say yes, it will create a new ".lrcat" file and a new previews folders with a "-2" added to the file/folder names (or higher number if 2 is already taken).  These items will be in the same folder as your old catalog.

You will get a new icon on your desktop that I suggest renaming so it is apparent which version is which.

Thank you so you can try out the new version without converting all of your old data?

What exactly does this screen do? What if I don't want to update. What if I want to try out this new version before updating this?

Some one please tell me does this touch my RAWS? can I tryout the new version without updating.

Some much cleared instructions here more precisely explaining what is about to happen when I hit UPGRADE would have been good for Adobe to have thought of.

There should have been a better introduction of this version.

    Thank you.

Your raw files are untouched. This is the same as upgrading in the past from Lr5 to LR6. A new catalog is created. Your existing catalog remains. Set the preference in the advanced tab to keep your existing version installed.
