Question

How to add the Leica Q to the lens corrections profile in the Develop Module in Lightroom Classic?

Hi,  I've imported some images from a Leica Q into Lightroom Classic. Under the Develop Module, when I checked off the lens corrections check boxes for the image I see, it has the Leica for a phone, Leica M, R, S, but no Leica Q listed. Does anyone know how to add the Leica Q profile to the Lightroom Classic program please? Tx.

Hi John, in a chat with Adobe, it appears that the latest listing as of Dec 2024 for camera profiles, the Leica Q, Q2, and Q3 don't have a recognized camera raw profile in LRC yet.  It seems to me that the image can only be processed by converting it to DNG file and then going from there. I had LR 5 from years ago and my Leica Q wasn't in the camera profiles then, so I purchased LRC on line thinking that surely the camera profile must be added now given the camera was from 2015, but no.

Oh, I also tried clicking on enable profile corrections and no "i" came up...

In the Lens Corrections panel, click on the "i", and you'll see that the camera has embedded Leica's lens profile in the raw, and LR has applied it automatically:

Hi John,  Thanks for your reply and your suggestion. I looked where you indicated and there was no "i" at the bottom. I'm wondering if I need to download this profile somewhere from Adobe? Tx.

In Develop, double-check you are editing a raw by typing "i" until you see the file name appear in the upper-right corner of the image. Nearly all lens profiles (including the ones embedded by cameras) are for raws only -- you won't see an embedded lens profile for JPEGs, since the camera has already applied it before creating the JPEG.
