How to color mask that stays in gradient tool

I used to do color masking with the gradient and brush tool but since the update they work seperately.  I create a gradient mask and below that a color one and click a color but it picks all the color in that area and not just withing my brush or gradient filter.  does anyone know how i can make it so the color masking only applies withing those masks?  i just updated to Lightroom 11.

Create the Gradient

Select Subtract and Choose the Color Range tool.   Check the invert box in Color range.

Pick the color you want to keep, for instance Red

 

Essentially, you are subtracting ALL the colors from the Gradient that are not Red.

It should be noted the Intersect button JUST creates an automatic Subtract/Invert.  It would have been great to have a REAL Intersect operator but the present tools work sufficiently well.

As an alternative, you can select the Intersect option rather than Subtract (press the Alt-key and the Add and Subtract buttons change to a single Intersect button). With Intersect you do not need to use invert. You simply select the color you want to keep.

      thank you!  I couldn't for the life of me figure this out!  I don't think i would have figured that invert button if you didn't say something!
