How to edit ARW files in Lightroom?

I have seen this question come up various times and the answer given is always to update LR.  Well I have a CC subscription and what I believe to be the latest version of LR (2015.12) and still can't edit ARW files.

I need to sort this urgently.  Please advise.

Thank you

Sylvia

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

The LR version is  CC 2015.12

    The camera is Sony A7ii.

I think what must have happened though is something to do with the memory - shortly after writing to you everything seized up saying I had run out of memory.  When I closed everything down and started it again I was able to open the ARW files to edit them.

    Problem solved!

    Many thanksSylvia

You need to confirm this by going to Help->system Info and reporting what version of LR is shown there. Many people believe that have the latest version, only to find out they don't have the latest version, possibly because the updater doesn't update when it should.

and still can't edit ARW files.

Describe the problem in detail, step-by-step. Exactly what happens? If there is an error message, please quote the exact complete unedited error message. Also, please state which camera (make and model) took these ARW files.
