How to generate a listing of photos

I am hoping someone can help figure out if there is a way to generate a list of images that shows, for instance, a thumbnail of the image, the filename, the title, the caption, somedates associated with it, etc.

I see in the Print module that i can create a 5x9 (or whatever) grid view and in that select either the title or the filename, among other data points, to appear above each thumbnail, but there seems to be no way to include both.

Having a printout that would enable one to select what columns are desired, and then to be able to sort by any of those columns (well, except the image thimbnails of course) so you can see it in order ot title names or date taken or whatever, can be a very clean way to keep everything properly sorted, no?

TIA to anyone who can assist in this

You know you can do some sorting and filtering right in Lightroom Classic, don't you?

I'm not sure what you mean by "properly sorted", but in Lightroom Classic you can sort by the file names or by dates or by rating or label or color and a bunch of other things.

If that isn't sufficient, you can try this plug-in from John Beardsworth.

"...but it does not allow you to sort by Title, which is specifically what I would like to do."

The Any Filter plugin's Filter command can show you the sorted titles, and you can select one or more titles to see the corresponding photos:

(The screenshot shows Caption rather than Title because my photos don't have any titles.)

You can use the Sort command to create a collection of the selected photos sorted by Title or virtually any other field in the catalog.

AH, so you are talking about another plug in - the base system does not have the funciton. So yes, i am sure.

Listview (the plugin already brought up by soe others, both here and at Lightroomqueen.com)  does what I want so I don't need another plug in. But thanks again!

Hi,

The last entry in the File Info list is Edit..., which allows you to choose what info will be visible.

Hope that helps,

Michael

Thanks, but that does not solve the issue (I did attempt editing, but there is no way to add another text firle - you still have to choose just one).

Others have mentioned a plug-in that I will chekc out, though.

Are you sure?

I know all that, but it does not allow you to sort by Title, which is specifically what I would like to do.

For instance, I have a bunch of photos called "moonrise over organs 1,2 etc." You can see some on my website (www.fatelyfoto.com) but the point is that these were taken over the course of a few years. So for me to get a listing where they all show up in the same section, and below that the photos of White Sands 1,2 whatever, and so forth - that's what I am trying to accomplish.

But thanks for the link to the plug-in - I will give that a shot.

The whole process is still unclear to me. Once you do this sort, then what?

If you use keywords, you can easily call up all the "moonrise ..." photos and then proceed to whatever step is next.
