how to get rid of duplicate folder of images in Lightroom Classic
Hi,
I don't know how this happened, meaning I can't replicate the issue, but I now have a duplicate set of images in Lightroom AND in Finder on my hard drive.
The duplicate folder is inside the original folder. Both folders contain identical photos so I actually have no idea which one is the original folder.
The crazy thing is when I try to delete the duplicate set (the folder within the folder) from inside LR Classic, it deletes ALL of the files, both the original and the duplicates and I'm left with zero photos. I did a quick UNDO on that and got the photos back along with the duplicates!
These are not virtual copies, btw. I know you're going to ask. Not the case. It's a whole shoot that got imported twice, somehow. LR isn't supposed to allow duplicates but there you have it.
Regardless of the files' origin story, I'd like to know how to fix this. What do I need to do to be left with only one set of original images?
I'm on a MBP, late 2017, OS 12.6.3, using LRC 8.3.1.
Thanks!
