How to give a rating and then filter out everything else?

I have a smallish catalog and have gone through it and rated as "1" [*] things I want to delete, not only from LRC but disk.  I rated about 10 items out of the 300 and went to filter by the # of the rating == " = 1 " -- but none show up == looking at the screen with all the photos there I can see the '1' rating == but when I filter it none show up.  I can't' figure out wht I'm doing wrong.

Is this how you have the filter set?-   Rating = *

Is it possible you also have another filter active? eg. a flag, or Smart Previews, etc.

I suggest that for the purpose of deleting files, it might be better to use Flags, in particular the 'Rejected' flag (keyboard [X] ).

Then the keyboard shortcut [CTRL + BACKSPACE] will allow you to [Remove] or [Delete from Disk] all the X-flagged photos.

I'll test the X idea == I thought, frankly, it was easier to do a 1 and then find all the 1s and then Remove/Delete them -- will ahve to see.  But the Q still is there == why if I do a 1 does no filter pick it up?

Like I said- "

"Is it possible you also have another filter active? eg. a flag, or Smart Previews, etc."

You have a Color label 'filter' [Un-labelled] also selected! So if all the files have Color labels- Nothing will show with your =1* search.

Also click on these three icons to be sure they are toggled off (ie. Not highlighted).

Show us a screen capture of your entire Library module including the Filter bar. Please use the "Insert Photos" icon to include your screen capture in your reply; do NOT attach files.

I start with a 'none' filter to begin with then go to the Attributes and select theh one * -- and it says nothing matches == will try to use some other method of selecting but frankly a quick '1' is a good way to do it, if it works.

[it is confusing frankly to have both the DragDropAttach thing at the bottom which would suggest the Insert Photos icon is meaningless, but that's perhaps just me]

You have also selected the right-most of the color label icons, indicating unlabelled. (See the white outline around that square?) You need to un-select that color label icon.
