How to Retrieve Missing Files in adobe Catalog

Hi, I was a photo student and got set up with an external hard drive with my catalog on it. Since the school year had ended I continued to transfer any pictures I was taking off my SD cards into my catalog and edit them in my Adobe Lightroom Classic catalog. One of these times I believe I overloaded the system and unproperly closed out the program due to being in a time rush. (Very dumb I know) Know when I try and open my catalog It says all my files are missing even on all of my backups. I am a novice when it comes to this and would appreciate any insight on how to fix this or if it's possible to recover my pictures.
