Question

How to roll-back update for Lightroom classic ? The 'older versions' option does not appear anymore

Hi,

until recently, we could roll-back a version from the CC app. Actually when I upgraded to LRC 10 it crashed my catalog (well, the catalog update does not work so I have a v9 catalog and a v10 LRC). I NEED to roll-back to v9 in order to use my lightroom bit ... how to do it now?

Thanks.

I my CC, I still have access to previuous versions of LrC up to version 8.2.1.

What you could try to workaround the upgrade failure :

  1. From LrC, select all your photos, then do a "File">"Export as Catalog" (granted, this need to be able to run LrC 9)
  2. Open this new catalog with LrC 10. If the upgrade succeed, you have a new migrated catalog

You need to be in the "All Apps" tab in the Adobe Creative Cloud app. If you are in "Updates" the little three dots with the link to "Other Versions" will not show. Once the other version list comes up, scroll down the the specific version of V 9 that you want.

Hi Rikk,

thanks for picking up my question.

I have the same issue since LRC v9 : I cannot update my 8.4.1 to v9x or v10x because the catalog update fails (no error code - just a plain text saying that the update fails).  So I'm stuck on v8.4.1 😞

On the Adobe Community support, there a lot of other LR enthousiasts with the same problem, but I don't see any solution. Some are suggesting to connect all the external drives (I did), others that some plugins could cause the isuue, etc.

It's really annoying because I'm a professional photographer and I cannot use the new features (and faster processing). And I know at some point the 8.4.1 will not be supported at some point so I NEED to find a solution before, I have 10 years of hard work in the catalog. I don't know of it helps, but my catalog is huge : approx 2.5 GO and 180K photos.

Do you know any workaround at least?

I'm using Windows 10 Version 20H2. But the problem appeared when I tried to switch to v9 in Dec 2019.

Many thanks for your help.

Franck

There is likely a problem with your catalog's structure. Your catalog size is not that big so it shouldn't be an issue. Support has the ability too review and repair a catalog. Have you contacted support?

"Other versions" still appears for me. Show us a screen capture. Use the "Insert Photos" icon; do not attach files.
