How to Stop Automatic Keywords

In the last few months, Lightroom Classic has been adding keywords to my photos on import.

Here is an example...

Birds, Blur judgement:Appropriate, Exposure judgement:Appropriate, Water

I have searched everywhere looking for an option to automatically add keywords based on the content of the image, but I cannot find anything.

Please, someone, help me make it stop.

Create a metadata preset where Keywords are checked, but the field is empty. Apply that on import.

I found it.

The keywords are in the original file. *

Is there a way to stop LrC from keeping the keywords on import?

* I am using image.canon to transfer the images from my camera to my desktop computer. It looks like image.canon started adding the keywords at the end of July.

Thank you. That worked great.

I'm not sure about this, but check the new assisted culling. And are you sure you did not add a plugin that might do this?

Thanks for the reply, Johan.

I do have a Metadata Preset applied on import. It is the same preset and settings I have been using for years, and this is a new issue.

To confirm, I edited the preset and all options are disabled except "IPTC Copyright" which simply has my name, date, and copyright info.

Also, I tested importing images without any metadata preset applied, and the keywords are still being applied to the photos.

I changed my reply when I realized the keywords were probably different per photo. A preset can't do that. My new suggestions were: I'm not sure about this, but check the new assisted culling. And are you sure you did not add a plugin that might do this?
