Question

I can no longer apply Denoise to my old Canon 5D4 files after installing latest LRClassic update

I am reworking old files. Up until I installed today's LRClassic update I could Denoise my my Canon 1DX2 and 5D4 files. Now I get a message saying Denoise is not compatible with my 5D4 files. I deleted and reinstalled LRClassic, same result. Then I deleted and installed the old LR version, in which Denoise worked on my 5D4 files, and it no longer works with them.

Link to 2 raw files that LRClassic does not recognize as raw and will not process in Denoise

Those two files were shot in Canon's S-RAW format, not full raw. The easiest way to tell that, as described above, is by the pixel dimensions:

which are smaller than the native sensor dimensions, 6720 x 4480.  From the manual:

Exiftool also shows it was shot with the S-RAW setting:

[MakerNotes] SRAW Quality : sRAW2 (sRAW)

You'll need to check your camera settings.

Thanks for your analysis. This is very surprising and strange. I never deliberately chose any format other than just regular raw. But I do see that at some point on the game drive that morning, my raws from the 5d4 decreased in size for the remainder of that game drive. The raws from earlier and later game drives all show regular raws. So fortunately, there are only a small fraction of my files from that trip that are small raws. I no longer have that camera, so this problem with a shift to small raw is a problem of the past.

It would also be helpful if you posted your 'System Info'. This can be obtained from the LrC Help > System Info menu item as shown on attached screenshot.

Based on the System Info you provided, your computer should have no problems denoising compatible files. Therefore, I recommend that you share some of the problems files as @johnrellis  requested.

Triple-check that you are applying Denoise to raw files and not JPEGs (or other non-raw formats):

If they are raws, were they shot with Canon's M-RAW or S-RAW options?  You can tell by looking at the uncropped pixel resolutions, which will be smaller than the camera's native full resolution.

They are cr2s and they are not downsized. I never ever shot small raws.

Select two of the problem files, upload them to Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar, and post the sharing link here. We can see if the issue occurs in other LR configurations or is specific to yours.
