Question

I can no longer open my Lightroom Classic.

I paid for LIghtroom and use Lightroom Classic for all of my photo editing.  A couple of weeks ago suddenly Lightroom Classic wouldn’t open.  I tried restarting my computer, cleaning up extra pictures, etc.  I finally uninstalled Classic and reinstalled it.  My computer says it’s installed, but won’t open the program.  I need it fixed.

@Brazilmedic In addition to @Sameer K ‘s post: Do you a clean reinstall? If no, try a clean reinstallation by following the steps below:

If you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here,    https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

Do you get an error message?

Do you have try to create a new catalog or restore the catalog from a backup. A corrupted catalog can prevent Lightroom from starting.

    My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 6 - Topaz Photo AI

Hey, @Brazilmedic. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I’ll help you figure this out. I’ll need more info to help you.

Did Lightroom close normally the last time it worked, or is this a fresh installation on this machine? Try these steps to get Lightroom to launch:

    • Reset Lightroom by holding the OPT/ALT + SHIFT (macOS/Windows) when you launch Lightroom and select 'Yes'.
    • Ensure Lightroom Classic has the required permissions on macOShttps://adobe.ly/3DyUws

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks!
