I can't get Keywords I enter in Lightroom to Export to Jpeg as tags. I have followed all the instructions on this forum. I have tried writing them back to the original file using Save Meta Data to file. I have tried to export a bunch of photos and use the Write Keywords as Lightroom hierarchy method, I have chnaged settings to Automatically Wtite chnages to XMP. Nothing works the export/writing to file progres bar says ti works but no tags are present in the photo. I can cteate a title in the Lighroom Metadata panel for a photo and that wll write back to the photos but not the keywords as tags. Please help!

Unless the Metadata option in the Export settings is set to one of the choices that begin with the word "All", no keywords (tags) are going to show in the resulting output file.

"Copyright & Contact Info Only" will include the Title but no keywords.

The general option "write keywords as Lightroom hierarchy" controls only how the specific nesting aspect of Lr keywords is to be represented in the output, which is a bit of a detailed technicality. It does not control whether keywords are written, at all, in the first place.

Writing (or not writing) metadata back to the imported file makes no difference to exporting JPG copies, nor indeed to the rest of the LrC workflow.

It may or may not make a difference when inspecting that imported original file, depending on its file type. You should see this info updated if it's a camera JPG file. However depending on Lr settings, not everything else may be written back to a JPG file, for example Adobe proprietary metadata describing your Develop edits may not be. And, do not need to be.
