Question

I find it difficult to edit large groups of images for consistency because of the way Lightroom handles previews and the library mode different than develop mode.

When I look at images in grid mode they are different than the image in develop mode. This makes it impossible to use the grid to compare final edits for consistency.

I do not consider this to be normal behavior.
Library and Develop should display identically, and there should be no need to build 1:1 previews.
In my experience, Library previews update very fast to reflect the edits done in Develop.

The issue is probably caused by a defective or incompatible monitor profile, or a buggy or outdated GPU driver.
Please go to Help > System info in LrC, click the Copy button, and paste in a new reply.
Also, please post screenshots that show the difference between Library and Develop.

Hi! This is normal behavior, so nothing is broken. The Grid/Library view shows a saved preview of the image, while Develop re-renders the raw file live with your current settings. If the stored previews are older than your edits, the grid won't match the Develop view.

To fix it: in the Library module, select the images and choose Library > Previews > Build 1:1 Previews (this can take a while for a large set). Once the fresh previews are built, the grid should reflect the Develop rendering.

Also keep in mind that the Library previews always update slightly after you make changes in Develop, so give it a moment after editing before comparing in the grid.
