I have LrC 14.1.1 and the program says it is up to date

... although afaik LrC is already at least at 14.2or further.

PLUS! I have unexpectedly the develop module disabled - With the life time license since 6.x

I have no complaints about 11.x, except that the now rug has been pulled from under my feet.

Should I pay for a onetime update? If yes, where shoulkd I start. If not, can I have my running existing versuoin restored?

Please advise

Sorry, but the description of your problem is very unclear. Please decribe your problem more detailed in simple words.

Which version of Lightroom do you have installed?

Which version of Lightroom do you have licensed?

Do you have a valid subscription?

If you owned Lightroom 6 (the latest perpetual license) there's no update to the recent versions of Lightroom available.

In this case you have to buy a subscription. Adobe products: desktop, web, and mobile applications | Adobe

the LrClassic is a sinking sun, better said, sunk sun. The name exists for "historical reasons".

Purchased the 1TB  abo and everything works again. Plus I can be sure it will, at least for one year. There's nothing like a free lunch - especially not after 11 years since LightRoom 6

Thanks everybody. Consider the case as closed.

I'm not sure what you are saying/asking, but if the develop module doesn't work then your subscription has expired. Lightroom Classic is subscription only. Your lifetime license for Lightroom 6 is just for Lightroom 6, not for Lightroom Classic.

You can try downloading the latest Adobe Creative Cloud application to your PC and then installing it. This ought to allow you to upgrade to the latest LrC version 14.3.
