I have major problems with Lightroom Classic. It runs very slowly. Importing, using library and developing are very slow. Some develop processes, for instance crop and remove, are difficult to use.

My machine exceeds minimum system requirements. I have 32 GB RAM, 64—bit multiple-core processor, Lightroom and operating system (Windows 11) are on same solid-state drive. Fotos are in my own machine, not on a network drive. There is more than 20% free space on ssd drive. The graphics driver is updated. I have increased the Camera Raw cache size to 20 GB.

Photoshop runs normally and machine works normally with other programs.

I made another catalog and opened LrC with it. Performance was OK. My thought is that there is something wrong with my normal catalog. What should I do?

    @AxelMatt

I tried to find a new graphic device driver from Nvidias website. I found none for RTX 4000, but one for RTX A4000 and installed it. LrC stopped totally. Now I am back to orginal one (32.0.15.8208)

@Sameer K  Thanks of your suggestions. I keep my catalog in C-drive. Lightroom and operating system (Windows 11) are on same solid-state drive.

The delays occur constantly. Sometimes there can be five minutes, when all works fine, then the program freezes back again. I have task manager running constantly. As far as I understand, the problem in not in CPU or in GPU. A screenshot shows the situation, when develop is on in LrC. (My Windows is in finnish.)

I updated Lightroom and it helped a little.

What do you have stored on the USB drive G:? There’s a in high utilization.

    Settings Folder: C:\Users\OMISTAJA\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom

Do you sync your user account with OneDrive? If yes, please exclude ALL Lightroom relevant folders from syncing with OneDrive.

You’re using a outdated version of the graphic device driver. Goto NVidia’s website and search for the recent version for you type of card. Make shure taht you installed the recent Studio version of the driver. DON’T use the Game Ready version.

Check if you have buldin a CPU with an internal graphic processor. If yes, disable the processor internal graphic card. The internal GPU can sometimes caused several issues. Open the Windows Device Manager, right-click the card's name and choose Disable.

You’re also try the recent version of Lightroom Classic. In the 15.3 version some perfomance improvements are implemented.

Hey, @Hanzi52. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out. Please share the complete system info & update Lightroom Classic to the latest version via the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Where do you keep your Lightroom Classic catalog? Does the delay occur randomly, or after you've applied specific edits, or a number of edits, to the image, such as Lens Corrections, Denoise, and Masks?

    As primary steps, try this:

    • Unplug additional displays & use only one by default.

    • Monitor the Task Manager > Performance Tab for any unexpected read and write operations.

    • Lightroom Classic > Catalog Settings > Metadata > Uncheck 'Automatically Write Changes Into XMP.'

    • Check this detailed response from our Expert: https://adobe.ly/4g6Cb4j

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
