@JohanElzenga You are correct, and thank you for pointing that out. I just confirmed that this is happening across multiple apps, so it appears to be a known issue. The team is already aware of it and is actively investigating.

@johna34796437 We’ll share more updates as soon as we have them. We appreciate your patience in the meantime.

A few other people (though not many) have indeed reported this, not only for Lightroom Classic but also for Lightroom. It’s unclear where this comes from, but most likely it’s because of some other binary that Lightroom uses, such as an old plugin, not because the application is Intel only (it has been universal since many years),

    Thanks for the reply.

The odd thing is there is no check box for open in Rosetta so I assume it is opening using apple silicon. Even though it says it is a universal app. Compare this with another universal app in the screenshot.

I’ve also double checked I have the latest version of Lightroom Classic. Just going to ignore the message until it stops working.

    Hi @johna34796437

Thanks for reaching out. That warning can appear on Apple‑silicon Macs if Lightroom Classic is launched using Rosetta instead of running natively, or if macOS cached older compatibility data after an update. It doesn’t usually mean the installed version is actually incompatible.

    Please check the following:

    • Quit Lightroom Classic
    • In the Applications folder, select Adobe Lightroom Classic
    • Choose Get Info
    • Make sure Open using Rosetta is unchecked
    • Relaunch Lightroom Classic

If the box was already unchecked, try:

    • Restarting the Mac
    • Confirming the version in Help > About Lightroom Classic shows 15.3
    • Running Help > Check for Updates in the Creative Cloud desktop app

Lightroom Classic 15.0 and later are fully supported on Apple silicon when running natively, and this message is typically environmental rather than a true compatibility issue.
