I synched my folder to find lost folder.....and now my edits are gone

So my photos went missing, leaving only the smart previews.  So i got the photos back where they needed to be.  Found a youtube video on how to rightclick the folder and click synchronize.  This worked, but my weeks worth of photo edits are all gone, photos back to normal.  Please tell me there is a way to get the edits back, or reverse the sync or something??

Photos missing can be fixed via these instructions: https://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm Your edits will be maintained via this process.

 

Synchronize folders should be used very carefully (in fact I would say not to use it at all until you have complete understanding of what it does), and is not the right tool in this situation. When you synchronize a folder, new files are essentially imported and so LrC thinks these are brand new photos with no edits.

 

If you have a recent backup of your catalog file from before this folder synchronization, then unzip that backup catalog, open it and follow the instructions at the link given above.

yes, but considering i already synchronized the folder ...how can i get my edits back??
