I use LR Classic and love it but now I want to use my cloud storage to backup my RAWs I've run into some pretty stupid issues. The Creative Cloud app won't let me upload RAWS for some inexplicable reason so I have to import my entire library into LR CC, AND make another local copy of them at the same time if I want to sync to my cloud storage. Why do I have to do that?! Is there not some easier, less incredibly stupid and annoying way to do this? This should be a very simple thing to do.

If you want to upload a raw file to the cloud, and you already have a smart preview synced from Lightroom Classic, then import that very same file (not a copy!) into Lightroom. No need to make another local copy, but you will always have one local copy (the one Lightroom Classic uses). Lightroom copies images before uploading them, but that copy is no longer needed after the upload has succeeded.

An easier method might be to import new images in Lightroom, not in Lightroom Classic. After Lightroom has uploaded them, they will sync down to Lightroom Classic automatically.

Alright thank you I will try that.

I've done more research and have decided to just pay for a decent cloud storage solution instead of using Adobe's. I don't want to have to juggle multiple apps and do multiple steps every time I import or want to do something as simple as backing up some files. It's an abolute mess.
