ICC Profiles missing in Lightroom Classic

Lightroom is too dumb to notice when new color profiles are added after Lightroom installation. Photoshop doesn't have this problem, so Adobe knows how to check for new profiles, but haven't gotten around to doing the same for Lightroom. Brute force, Adobe-approved way: uninstall and reinstall Lightroom.

Better way: find where the ICC color profiles are stored by the system (Windows 11: C:/windows/system32/spool/drivers/color/*.icm) and manually copy them to C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Color Profiles/*.icm

Why Adobe can't just add a "Refresh" menu/button somewhere it its vast, cluttered UI remains unknown, as does why this works seamlessly in Photoshop but fails utterly in Lightroom.

The correct answer did not solve my missing icc profiles in my ColorSync folder. Since I use macOS Monterey 12. X. Couldn't find my surecolor p-800 printer on the their website where the icc profile was listed.

One more possible answer to this question....which is happening on my PS 21. I need to try it when I can get back at my machine. I picked this up somewhere on the web last night.

I am using an iMac with Catalina OS. What to try. Copy all of your profiles that are not showing up to a folder somewhere. Now delete all of them from the Colorsync folder or printer folder where you found them. Now copy them back, Catalina should ask you for a 'persission' as your admin. This for Catalina and later OX versions. Restart your LR or PS and you should be good to go. Hope it does...I need it to.

I've used an Epson 3880 for some 8 years with no problem. Recently, we bought a new notebook (Asus/Windows 10 fully updated) and loaded it up with Lr and Ps, making sure that ICC profiles I need (and have used for years) were installed in the Windows/System 32/Spool/Drivers/Color folder. They're there. But, like some others here, I have been unable to select many of those profiles when in Print Module/Page Setup/Media Type/Other--they simply aren't there to select like on my desktop following the same process.

We've (I and my wife, an IT expert experienced in desktop/laptop support) researched online and followed all suggestions noted there, to no avail.

Adobe, wake up and be of help, please. I've been using your products for more than a decade and this is unnacceptable.

There are two problems with the usual suggestion of deleting a printer or resetting the macOS printing system: 

• For some people it’s only a temporary fix and the profiles disappear again later — they have disappeared on me again after reinstalling the printer. 
• Every time you do it, it wipes out custom printer settings, including custom paper sizes. 

I think I’ve come up with a more permanent solution: Create an alias to the location of the Epson profiles inside the driver package, and put that alias in the standard ~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles folder. Since I did that, the profiles have not disappeared again. I think adding the alias gives applications an alternate path to the profiles in case something fails about the way applications are supposed to find those profiles.

That solution can be done in about a minute if you have some technical knowledge of how ICC profiles work in macOS; otherwise it will take a little longer. You will only see other profiles there if you installed them in your operating system
