iCloud Folder as Import Destination

I am new to Lightroom. I'm trying to set an iCloud folder as an import destination in Lightroom Classic 9.3 on my Mac. Lightroom won’t accept that folder. Note that I don't want to import from an iCloud source folder. I want the import to copy the files to an iCloud destination folder. Do you have any guidance?

I had the same issue and the workaround I found was to create an alias folder on desktop and then select that aas an import location and it worked!

How does Lightroom not allow you to use iCloud as destination? I just checked, but I do not see any restrictions. It's just a matter of selecting a folder in the correct location.

You're right. Selecting the "TO" section, in the upper right, works fine. I wasn't looking outside the Destination section. Since that section didn't show the iCloud tree, I couldn't figure out how to make it work. Problem solved. Thanks so much for your help!

AFAIK, the iCloud folder is a local folder that is synced to the cloud, just like Dropbox. There is no reason why Lightroom should not accept this folder as destination, but you may have to give it the proper permissions. Check the permissions as below, or otherwise add Lightroom to the Full Disk Access tab.

Thanks. That was my impression too (iCloud is a folder tree). So I did a test. Lightroom does allow iCloud folders as a source for the Import process, just not as a destination. Also, I tried putting my Lightroom catalog folder in the iCloud tree, and importing files from an iCloud path, and Lightroom seems to work fine. Only Import destination paths fail. It's probably something simple, but certainly it's not obvious (to me).

Regarding your response, I only have one checkbox for Lightroom. It was checked when I first looked. Does anything else come to mind?
