Question

IIQ S files NOT exporting from lightroom

Hello,

I'm trying to export IIQ S RAW files shot with a Phase One 180 db and getting a "There was an unknown error." when I try and export (to JPEG, DNG, whatever) . Files are imported and processed fine.

IIQ L files have always exported fine and still do (as have IIQ S in the past).

what's going on? Do I need to use Capture One to use IIQ S files??

i'm on a MBP M2 Max with Sonoma 14.4.1

LR Classic 14.1.1

Try turning off "use GPU for export". It's in the custom options in the "Use Graphics Processor"  preferences->performance. If that doesn't help, can you share one of the files that refuses to export? Also check if there are no weird characters in the filename or export path such as / ? ' " etc.

Thank Jao. Unfortunately that didn't work. I'm not super keen on sharing the files as they're family pictures.

Another little detail is that if I try and edit in>Photoshop, I get this error:

Could not open “CF012178.IIQ” because of a program error.

The only way I can currently get this is out is via "printing" to PDF in the print pane and then exporting in preview as jpeg, which is obviously far from ideal...

Very odd. I wonder if LR is struggling with the lossy version of IIQ. It's never had a problem with the IIQ L  files - I've been using LR with those for years.

Below is a description of the IIQ S files:

The lossy version of the RAW format provides higher compression than smaller file sizes and improved workflow:

  • IIQ S is a smart compressed RAW file format which can be used in almost all applications where it provides a completely sufficient quality. In fact, smart compression is so good that it can be difficult to see the difference. However, there is a very small loss of data and, therefore, Phase One does not claim that IIQ S is completely lossless but only near-lossless.

Just shoot an image of a chair or something unidentifiable. I only asked because I could not quickly find sample files from this camera online. I can only find L raw version samples and they export fine on my M1 Max running Sequioa.
