Imac Configuration suitable for LigthroonClasic &Photoshop

Helo,

I'm going to buy an Imac with the following configuration:

  • Apple M1 chip with 8-core CPU with 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, 8-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine.  
  • 512GB SSD storage
  • 8 GB Unified memory.

Please, somebody can tell me if this configuration is enougth for Ligthroom Clasis & Photoshop?  Or I have to buy with 16 GB Unified memory. 

It's not for profesional work.

LrC uses a lot of memory, especially in the Develop module where most of the adjustment tools, masks, etc make use of the GPU, which shares the memory with the CPU cores. Therefore, I recommend that you go with the 16GB option.

 

Also note that 16GB is the minimum requirement for GPU acceleration when exporting images.
