Question

images are not always updated after editing in the developer module or Photoshop

Hi

Update to point numer two, masking.

Just encountered the problem again, could not add a second mask, clicking on the create new mask button did nothing, no respone.

LrC was in full screen mode - did exit that mode, and voilà - masks do work again. Furthermore it happend on the second screen, where LrC was put. Moving LrC to the integrated screen, both variants (full screen and non full screen) do work.

So maybe there is an issue with second screens. (I do not have another external screen to do more testing).

just to add to the inital problem description - masking has become even more an issue. It just stopped working. When adding a mask, there is no way you can add or substract from the mask - LrC just does not respond to the command. However you can still reveal or hide, use the context menue....

Contact Adobe. This via a Chat. Before doing so, prepare your notes and information ahead of time as to be more efficient in communicating. Your info that you have posted in your Discussion is a start for the description, and probably have a copy of your LrC /Help/System Info/ as a text document on hand, so that you can paste or attach that into the chat.

To accomplish the Chat, bring up an Adobe webpage, and click on the Chat button. (see image below) This will start a Chat. At first the Chat will be with a chatbot, Typing “Agent” into the chat text field will bypass the initial chatbot. If an agent does not enter the chat then be assertive in requesting an actual Adobe Tech join in the chat.

In the Chat include (as mentioned above) a description of the issue, and probably your System Info. And include a link to your discussion.

You may want to ask for a phone call.

And please keep notes so that you can share them in your post for others to see.

For example, bring up:

https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

and click on the Chat button, typically found in bottom right corner

Thanks, might be worth to give it a shot.

Just to complete my problem solving, it included the step above to delete preferences - it had no effect on the problems encountered. Also a de-installation of LrC and reinstall from the cloud did not resolve the issues.

I fear that the recommendation would be to migrate to the latest LrC version anyway...

Have you tried resetting the preferences? https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/

Thanks, but no, haven't tried yet. Are these problem associated with preferences? Just asking, as I do not want to mess around with my prefs unless really necessary.

Not specificly these problems, but corrupted preferences are known to cause a lot of problems. It's not a big deal to reset them. Make screenshots of the preference tabs so you can reset everything quickly to what it was before.
