Images from lightroom will not open in photoshop 2022

I installed photoshop beta then uninstalled it.  After that, images from lightroom will not open images or layers in photoshop 2022.  They will however open as smart objects.  When I click to open in photoshop, I am not asked whether I want to open as a layer with adjustments etc.  I reinstalled photoshop beta, but still the same - it opens photoshop beta but no image.  Then when I try to save tif files I get an error message despite the fact that the image does save - jpegs save just fine.  When I close the image I opened as a smart object I get Error 21: undefined is not an object line:1.

I have gone to plugin extras and selected photoshop 2022 with no effect

I am scared to uninstall photoshop and loose all my custom brushes, Luts etc.

Help Please

When the 'link' between Lightroom Classic and Photoshop has issues, one of the first things to try is this:
    1. Use the Adobe Creative Cloud application to uninstall both Photoshop and Lightroom Classic and when asked, keep preferences.
    2. Install Photoshop first, then Lightroom Classic.
    Better?

You don't have to uninstall. Just edit your registry to point to the path of the beta .exe
