Images in catalog from 2015 turning black-out

Editing old stock. Not making any changes yet, just opening up and looking at the raw files. Images in updated Lightroom classic catalog are from nearly ten years ago. My dodge burn and other adjustments jump to pure black, export as pure black or if it's a gradient mask that part is strangely totally blacked out. No adjustment changes this.
At first the image is visible in my library but anything I touch and open goes to black. Very alarming

In that first screen capture, are we actually seeing the mask overlay, selected to be black? Or perhaps Image on Black (masked area not black)

Seems to be the Dehaze slider. Any amount of dehaze zaps the image to total black out

Have you tried disabling the GPU as it's often the culprit for issues such as you describe? For example, this thread from last year https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/dehaze-issue/m-p/12838758
