Everytime I click on a image in the develop module it selects the images next to it as well. When I export, it exports the other images as well. This just started and I have no clue how to get rid of this wonderful feature. Can some one please guide me in gettign lightroom back to normal?

In a first step please try to reset the Lightroom preferences.

If this doesn't help please try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

I had the same problem a while ago and using an old Prefs file (I rename old prefs files if I have to replace them)cured it.
