Question

'Import from other catalogue hangs then gives up

I am trying to import images from another computer into my main system cataloque, something I have done many times before.  I first exported a cataloque from the other system to an external drive.  However I am unable to import this as the 'import from another cataloque' function simply starts the beachball spinning for a minute or so before it stops and the normal cursor reappears.  My main system cataloque does not appear to be corrupted.  Any help is very much appreciated.

It may be that the exported catalog is corrupt somehow. If that's the case, instead of exporting it, try importing the other catalog itself (not the exported catalog). If it fails the same way, restore a recent backup copy of the other catalog.

Hey, @W.W. Webster. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out.

Is the secondary catalog stored on the external drive? As a test, move the catalog to the internal drive on the main machine, disconnect the external drive, and check if it helps.

Thanks!
