Import help needed

I have been using LR for at least 10 years. I'm not new

today I cannot import any new photos.

I have started and restarted and updated everything.
When I try to import into LR the import window can see all of my folders, but not any photos. It doesn't matter which drive or folder I click on LR is showing now thumbnails of my photos. Normally you have to click on a thumbnail to choose that one to import, but if there are no thumbnails then there is no import.
usually you see a bunch of thumbnails and you can check all or uncheck all, or just one and then import. But today there is nithing to check or uncheck.
I can see all the old photos in my catalogues but I cannot add (import) any new photos to any catalogue.

First, it would be very helpful if you showed us a screen capture of the entire Import dialog box. Use the Insert Photos icon to include your screen capture in your reply. Do NOT attach files.

As a wild guess, this has worked for some people in this situation. Click on COPY at the top of the Import dialog box, make sure the Destination Panel on the right is expanded and points to a folder that actually exists. Then if desired click on ADD. (If the Destination Panel doesn't appear, right-click on File Handling and select Destination).

Hey, @Seaslugg. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Please share the system info from Lightroom Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.

Does this happen when you import images from a specific location? Is the catalog stored on an internal or external drive?

As a quick test, create a new catalog (File menu > Create New Catalog) placed in the Internal drive & import 30-40 images, and check how it goes.

Thanks!
