Import of home folder by accident / How to deal with?

Dear LR community,

Unfortunately, my wife accidentally imported not only the desired images from the hard disk yesterday, but also many other images, e.g. from programs, due to the "Include subfolders" function. We suspect that she imported the "Home" folder, but she can no longer say for sure.
We do have a backup of our Mac, but we don't want to completely rebuild the system.

Do you have any ideas on the best way to deal with this? That would be great.

Thank you and best regards

If that is the case, then a restore of your entire system (or just the home folder) using a Time Machine backup is probably easier than trying to find all these images and manually move them back where they belong.

I need to add that the issue is now, that multiple picture from apps etc. have been moved to the LR catalougue folder. And we are talking about LR classic. 😉

Thanks Johan for the quick reply. We decided to go for the Time Machine Backup. It was quite an effort to ensure that changes after the wrong import were correctly captured. But it looks like it's the only way... 😕😕 Issue has been solved with this.
